Charleville Show, one of the country’s few remaining two-day agricultural shows, was launched last week in the Charleville Park Hotel, recently acquired by Supermacs magnate, Pat McDonagh.

This year’s weekend fixture (June 27th-28th) has a host of horse and pony show jumping classes, including rounds of the TRM National Grand Prix, Red Mills, FBD and Munster Greyhound leagues. Show chairman Ian Doyle, who also doubles as a senior national course designer, recalled past shows where international riders Bertram Allen, Shane Carey and Billy Twomey competed as rising stars.
