CASPIAN Prince (6-1) registered his and new trainer Roger Fell's first Listed victory in the Mercury Stakes at Dundalk.
The speedy seven-year-old has won the Epsom 'Dash' twice and has run well in numerous other good races, but had never struck at a level as high as this. He blazed a trail from the outset in the hands of Declan McDonogh, who made use of his natural early pace to grab a lead he was never to relinquish, although Moviesta made late inroads and was only a head down at the line. Medicean Man was third.
