Held in association with Qipco and with many well known company partners, the sale, held on the eve of Royal Ascot at The Orangery in Kensington Palace, attracted a world of buyers and an inordinate amount of non-equine media coverage.

It was an Irish-based company that took the sale to London and the general feeling was that it was a great success. Some tweaking may take place when the post-mortems are held, with some observers feeling that the horses in training should be sold before the breeze-up lots. The fact that horses had to be stabled at Kempton rather than be on-site was another immediate post-sale reaction. The sale venue was linked to the racecourse and bidders could partake at either site.
