FIVE Ireland-based riders contested last Friday’s finals of the Dubarry Burghley young event horse competition with Nicky Roncoroni faring best of the quintet when second in the four-year-old division on Rock ABC.

The British international, who lives in Co Kilkenny, travelled to England in late May and qualified the Harlequin du Carel gelding at Hambleton District Show, where he won by 12 marks, while the grey topped the scores by a six-point margin at the Yorkshire Sport Horse Show just days later.
