TRAINER Mark Johnston is in a rich vein of form and his War Command youngster Victory Command made it four wins from seven outings when running away with the Listed Wooldridge Group Pat Eddery Stakes over seven furlongs at Ascot.

Champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa had the winner some four lengths clear running to the two pole. Glorious Lover cut the deficit but there was no catching Victory Command, who was very impressive. “He’s done nothing but surprise us from day one,” said trainer’s son Charlie. “As soon as they’re rated above 90 you’ve got to look at blacktype and this race cut up a bit. It’s not impossible he’d go for a Goodwood nursery.”
