NIGEL Twiston-Davies may have been a little disappointed with Bristol De Mai at Newbury but he won the big handicap hurdle with Ballyandy and also struck twice at Warwick, where Flying Angel landed the Grade 2 Betway Kingmaker Novices’ Chase.

Successful in the Imperial Cup last March, Flying Angel had disappointed this term and was given a three-month break as well as receiving treatment for a muscle problem. Clearly right back to his best, he travelled well in a strongly-run race and came through under Willie Twiston-Davies to head Gino Trail at the last, pulling away to beat him by over four lengths.
