JAMES Fanshawe has a very talented sprinter on his hands in The Tin Man, who bounced back from an off day in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot and justified 11/4 favouritism in the Group 3 bet365 Hackwood Stakes over six furlongs.

Quite a few of them were held up in a tactical race, including the winner, who was nursed along by Tom Queally and nudged into the lead inside the final furlong after both Raucous and Lord Of The Land had taken it up. The Tin Man held on readily enough, although Mick Channon’s Divine closed all the way to the line to be beaten a head with Raucous third.
