GODOLPHIN have concentrated much more on valuable handicaps over the past few years and the last big one of the season came their way when Prize Money won the Betfred November Handicap at Doncaster on Saturday.

Gelded since his most recent outing in July, Prize Money wore a hood and seemed short enough at 4/1 in an ultra-competitive affair but has more than a touch of class and that July effort saw him finish third in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. Saeed Bin Suroor’s string has shrugged off the virus and the trainer’s decision to use the best jockeys available paid off last week because George Wood is excellent value for his 5lb allowance.
