JASON Maguire was out for a long time following a dreadful fall but is back and riding as well as ever now. This much was apparent when he took the Betfred Mandarin Handicap Chase over the full Hennessy distance on Kim Bailey’s Knockanrawley.

Back In June made much of the running but was joined by Financial Climate three out. He fought back well but Maguire drove Knockanrawley into the lead at the last. It was hard work but there was a length and a half to spare over Back In June at the line. The winner is only just rising seven and assistant trainer Mat Nicholls believes the Welsh National may be on the agenda in a year’s time.
