THERE were a few wins for Irish-trained horses over the past week in Britain, headed by Turnpike Trip, who landed the Cesarewitch Trial at Newmarket last Saturday. He spread-eagled his rivals under John Egan, but is not in the Cesarewitch itself.

Perth threw up its usual mix of Irish winners, with Gordon Elliott easing back into a familiar role as 11/10 favourite O’Connell Street landed the Happy Retirement Colin Vickers Handicap Chase under Jordan Gainford on Thursday, while John McConnell struck on both days of the meeting, with Go Another One, who beat stablemate Roi de Dubai in the feature handicap chase on Wednesday and via Clondaw Hollow in the 2m novice hurdle the following day.
