THE Unibet All-Weather Sprint went to Richard Fahey’s 7/1 shot Alben Star, who was repeating his 2014 triumph. Campaigned with this race in mind, he also finished second last year and looks as good as ever at the age of eight. The early leader was Bosham, with Lancelot Du Lac doing very well to get across from his wide draw to chase him up. The pair turned for home with every chance, with the strongly-supported Goken, having his first outing for Kevin Ryan, also making his move.

However, Alben Star - whose outings over an inadequate five furlongs could be regarded as purely cosmetic and who also appreciated a better draw this time - was making relentless progress.
