SIYOUNI (Pivotal) produced his second world’s best three-year-old in 2021, and this season will receive another high-class book of mares, befitting one of Europe’s leading sires.

One of the highlights of the list is champion Zarkava (Zamindar), the dam of leading first season sire Zarak (Dubawi), and she will return to Siyouni for an early cover. The mating has already produced the stakes-winning filly Zaykava.

Other homebred Aga Khan Studs mares in Siyouni’s book include Group 1 winner Dolniya (Azamour), whose first two foals performed at stakes level last year; Ebiyza (Rock Of Gibraltar), the dam of Group 1 performing globetrotter Ebaiyra (Distorted Humor); and the Sea The Moon (Sea The Stars) mare Sagamiyra, a group winner who was placed second in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild last year.

Amongst other mares set for Siyouni are Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Solemia (Poliglote) and Group 1 Prix Vermeille winner Galikova (Galileo) from the Wertheimers, Group 1 Prix Rothschild winner With You (Dansili) from George Strawbridge, and Kirsten Rausing’s Group 1 winner Madame Chiang (Archipenko).

Cabaret, whose previous mating with Siyouni produced champion St Mark’s Basilica, will visit him again this year. Juddmonte will be sending the dams of Grade 1 winners Viadera (Bated Breath) and Juliet Foxtrot (Dansili).

Bluebloods

Also visiting Siyouni in 2022 will be sisters to Japan (Galileo), Mogul (Galileo), Secret Gesture (Galileo), Lope De Vega (Shamardal), Zelzal (Sea The Stars), Timepiece (Zamindar), Passage Of Time (Dansili), Sacred Life (Siyouni) and National Defense (Invincible Spirit), as well as the dams of A Raving Beauty (Mastercraftsman), Wings Of Eagles (Pour Moi) and Walk In Marrakesh (Siyouni).

Mares due to foal to Siyouni this season include Group 1 placed Zarkamiya (Frankel), a daughter of Zarkava, and Eziyra (Teofilo), Group 1 producer Sinaniya (More Than Ready) and Dariyza (Dawn Approach), a half-sister to Group 1 winner and sire Dariyan (Shamardal) from the Aga Khan Studs; Group 1 winners Kitesurf (Dubawi), Left Hand (Dubawi) who is returning for 2022, Qemah (Invincible Spirit) and Watch Me (Olympic Glory) who recently gave birth to a filly.

Others expecting to the Haras de Bonneval resident are Venetias Dream (Librettist) who is dam of Siyouni’s 2022 classic winner Dream And Do, and Starlet’s Sister (Galileo), the dam of Siyouni’s Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club and Arc winner Sottsass, as well as half-sisters to St Mark’s Basilica, Just The Judge (Lawman) and Magna Grecia (Invincible Spirit).

With Siyouni’s first crop conceived at a six-figure fee now turned two, the seasons ahead look to be exciting ones for the French sire sensation.
