SADLY the Cadeaux Genereux mare Bold Desire is dead, and just as she was making a real mark for her owner John Doyle. Her fifth, and last, foal Venturous ran and won at Newmarket last week and the Godolphin owned son of Raven’s Pass could now be a leading contender for the Middle Park Stakes. A 110,000gns foal when sold by Keith and Eileen Harte as agents, he was snapped up by John Ferguson and they were already in possession of his Acclamation half-sister who had brought 140,000gns as a foal. She is now the three-time winner Wanting, also trained by Charlie Appleby.

Bold Desire is the dam of four winners, and these include Parliament Square, by Acclamation, who was bought by Demi O’Byrne for 370,000gns and later won a listed race at Tipperary before finishing third behind Reckless Abandon in the Group 1 Prix Morny.
