I TWEETED at the weekend that few racing moments have given me as much pleasure as that of Princess Zoe in the Group 1 Prix du Cadran. The five-year-old mare was winning for the seventh time, having been successful twice at three in her native Germany where she was bred at Gestüt Höny-Hof.

Joining Tony Mullins this year, her rise to Group 1 success has been phenomenal. Runner-up on her Irish debut in a Navan handicap, she then reeled off four victories in succession, culminating with her win in the Listed Oyster Stakes at Galway. The plan was hatched to be audacious and up her in trip and class and take on some of the best stayers in Europe. Under the coolest of rides from Joey Sheridan she was successful and has now garnered more than £200,000 in prizemoney.
