GLOBAL Citizen, a winner of his only point-to-point, topped the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham April Sale in 2017, selling for £275,000 to Matt Coleman. He went on to win six times, including two Grade 2 hurdle races and a Grade 2 chase.

At the same sale, the better of two lots sold by Timmy Hyde was the then four-year-old Milan (Sadler’s Wells) gelding Brewin’upastorm, a winner days earlier at Quakerstown on his debut and a late entry to the sale. Bought by Hyde for €35,000 at the Goffs Land Rover Sale the previous year, the Longrove Stud-bred gelding repaid that investment with interest when selling to Ryan Mahon for £250,000 and joined Dan Skelton to race in the colours of Barbara Hestor.
