FOLLOWING her success in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, Love (Galileo) became the best performer for her dam Pikaboo who, despite the efforts of John Gosden, could only manage a minor place in five starts. What a contrast her stud career has been, and being by the preeminent broodmare sire Pivotal (Polar Falcon) has been a key. Love is the sixth Group 1 winner by Galileo out of a Pivotal mare, joining Hermosa, Magical, Rhododendron, Hydrangea and The United States.

Pikaboo’s first good winner to emerge was Lucky Kristale (Lucky Story), winner of a pair of Group 2s, the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes and the Connolly’s Red Mills Lowther Stakes. Now, Pikaboo is the dam of three group winners in succession by Galileo (Sadler’s Wells), joining Group 3 winners Peach Tree and Flattering.
