LAST year I drew attention to a yearling filly by Dragon Pulse (Kyllachy) who was heading to the Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale. Her year-older full-brother Porchy Party gave her sale prospects a boost when, four days before she was due in the ring, he won for the second time for trainer Tom Dascombe. The trainer purchased Porchy Party as a yearling for 18,000gns, while breeder Seamus O’Neill of Maevesrath Stud near Navan had sold the colt as a foal for €18,000 at Goffs.

The filly received lots of interest at Fairyhouse and she sold for €23,000 to SackvilleDonald, acting as it turned out for Tom Dascombe. Named Light My Fire, she is now unbeaten in two starts, most recently at Wolverhampton and on the same card that Porchy Party indicated that he is returning to form with a solid placed effort.
