WHISTLE Dixie was Gordon Elliott’s 100th winner between Ireland and Britain this season when she landed the Dunmoe Mares Maiden Hurdle at Navan. Bryan Cooper partnered the Gigginstown House Stud mare to her first win over hurdles, adding to a point-to-point win and two bumper successes.

Costing €100,000 as a three-year-old, Whistle Dixie, bred at Michael and Sheelagh Hickey’s Sunnyhill Stud, must surely go chasing blacktype now to add to an already impressive pedigree. The daughter of Kayf Tara, the leading National Hunt sire standing in England, is one of nine winners from 10 runners so far for her Good Thyne dam Fairy Blaze. Good Thyne stood at Sunnyhill.
