JACK Davison is a young trainer who featured in this paper after he sent out his first winner last year. He doubled up at Dundalk on Friday week when Fresnel was a 40/1 winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at the first time of asking. The three-year-old daughter of Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) won well and she won’t be starting at such odds again.

Davison is a man with a pedigree himself, his parents owning the famed Killarkin Stud. A graduate of the Godolphin Flying Start course, he currently has a dozen horses in. Afterwards he said: “I have my full licence about a year. I came from a breeding background; then I got on the Godolphin course and really got into the training and racing side of things.
