THIS week I have chosen a couple of juvenile winners to follow, and with fingers crossed in the case of one of them.

I was at Newmarket last weekend and witnessed at first hand the likeable victory of Mellow Yellow in the opening mile novice race for two-year-old fillies. Runner-up at Newcastle on her debut, she won this time by a neck, but the manner of her victory suggests that she could be a filly on the upgrade. That said, she finished the race lame and, hopefully, this is not something serious and we will see her again.
