HOPEFULLY Emmet Mullins was cheering home his winner on Tuesday. No racing in Ireland? The race was in Hong Kong, at Happy Valley, and on this occasion Mullins was the breeder of the day’s opening winner.

Originally named Onethirtee but now called Shadow Breaker, this son of Excelebration (Exceed And Excel) is the first foal out of Kramer Drive (Medicean), a five-time winner in Italy from two to four years and she displayed her soundness and consistency when she was placed a further 18 times. Mullins, with Martin Wanless, bought Kramer Drive, carrying Shadow Breaker, for €18,000 at Goffs two months and a day before she had her first foal.
