JUST before Christmas Don’t Be brought the curtain down on a fine racing career when she won the Listed Coral Quebec Stakes at Lingfield, her ninth win and her seventh on the all-weather. She will now head to the breeding shed where her owner Olivia Hoare will have plenty of choice of stallions for her six-year-old daughter of Cape Cross.

Bred by Paddy Barrett, Don’t Be was sold as a yearling for 90,000gns to Kern/Lillingston and was originally campaigned in France where she won as a three-year-old. Moved to Sir Mark Prescott, she has been a revelation and now goes to stud as a three-time listed winner, including at Dundalk.
