THE Camacho family’s Canning Bloodstock Limited bred Darlington Hall, a rising star in Japanese racing. The three-year-old son of New Approach (Galileo) was bound to be on a long-list of potential purchases for Sheikh Mohammed when he came up for sale at the Tattersalls December Sale in 2017.

Offered as part of The Castlebridge Consignment, he was indeed sold to the organisation, but this time as a purchase by Harry Sweeney for Darley Japan. He was one of the first European purchases bought as a foal to race in Japan for Sheikh Mohammed and cost 70,000gns. Now that looks like money well spent.
