TOGOVILLE may never lay claim to be one of the best racehorses reviewed in this column, but he made a piece of racing history last week when he became the winning-most horse on the all-weather at Dundalk, landing his 10th victory at the Co Louth venue. He is quite a fixture now there, though he did open his winning account back in 2014 with victories at Roscommon and Laytown. Perhaps there was a clue to his future success when he won on the beach!

Win number 12, at the age of eight, and even more placed efforts have seen Togoville’s earning nudge towards €170,000, a fine return on the €9,000 he cost BBA (Ireland) as a yearling at Tattersalls Ireland in 2011. Sold by his breeder Steven Nolan through Mountain View Stud, he is one of seven winners for his unraced dam Road Harbour (Rodrigo De Triano) and she has certainly made her mark at stud.
