TWO of the Grade 1 winners at the inaugural Dublin Racing Festival had pedigrees that would have been more befitting the winner’s circle at Epsom on the first Saturday in June. Jessica Harrington’s Supasundae denied Faugheen a fairy-tale comeback, and now the winning son of Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) will head to Cheltenham with high hopes for a big race victory over a longer distance.

Meanwhile, Tower Bridge, a son of High Chaparral (Sadler’s Wells), gave Joseph O’Brien the first of his two Grade 1 successes at the weekend when he won the opening novice hurdle. He was the only maiden in the field, though he won a couple of bumpers during the summer for owner JP McManus.
