AN announcement in the days leading up to last week’s Ballindenisk International Horse Trials that one FEI-registered owner per horse could attend the fixture was music to the ears of many including Jo Breheny as two daughters of her broodmare, LEB Liath, were competing.

The Tramore breeder still owns the elder of the pair, the 2010 Limmerick bay LEB Lias Jewel, who, with one of only two doubles clears inside the time, finished second in the CCI4*-S under Cathal Daniels. The same rider was on board the 2014 OBOS Quality 004 grey LEB Empress who landed the CCI2*-S on just her fourth start in Ireland.
