HACKETTSTOWN owner-breeder Pam Walshe missed seeing her Ballinaguilkey Fortunus win the four-year-old Young Event-horse Series qualifier at Tullymurry Equestrian Centre on Wednesday but was delighted for the horse and his rider, George Russell.

“He’s still quite green,” said Walshe of her grey Heritage Fortunus gelding when contacted that night. “I hadn’t done a whole lot with him at home before sending him up to George about 10 weeks ago. Jason Dear, who rides out for me a couple of times a week, rode him in one of the Stepping Stones qualifiers in late April when he finished second to the league winner, Westwinds Navigator.
