THE Chris Waller stable continued their dominance of the $1 million Epsom Handicap on Saturday as Winx affirmed her favouritism via an emphatic two and a quarter length margin.

The victory by the Street Cry four-year-old mare was not without adversity though as she was nearly brought down on the home turn as Hugh Bowman battled to secure clear galloping room. “I don’t like to get carried away but she got stood on her head at 450 metres and re-gathered and composed herself and won with authority,” said the 34-year-old Bowman. “To win my first major Randwick mile means a lot.”
