ON Wednesday race meetings at Sandown and Warwick Farm, in Victoria and New South Wales, were abandoned with racing suspended until yesterday at the earliest pending the result of a Covid-19 test.

Racing Victoria suspended Wednesday’s Sandown meeting after three races when they were told a jockey had been informed that they were on the same March 12th flight as someone with Covid-19. “The participant has done exactly the right thing and we’ve been notified. Everything we have put in place has swung into action,” said Racing Victoria chief executive Giles Thompson.
