THE 2016 three-day Inglis Classic Yearling Sale closed last Sunday, setting new records across the board. The gross for 459 yearlings sold at the clearance rate of 90% was A$26,760,500, with the average up 37% to $57,426 and the median of $44,000 boosted by 47%.

“The presence of buyers from Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and New Zealand, along with Australia’s leading trainers, and a multitude of country and provincial trainers, and syndicators from across the country, highlights that Classic is now on every serious buyers’ calendar,” said Inglis Director Jonathan D’Arcy, adding that 44 vendors had recorded a 100% clearance.
