THE former Mark Johnston-trained Irish-bred Jaameh looks likely to have booked a start in next year’s Lexus Melbourne Cup following a well taken win in Saturday’s Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2,600 metres at Flemington.

Trained by David Hayes, his son Ben and Tom Dabernig, Jaameh strode clear of the field before being swept up by Sully, fighting back after being headed, and getting the head-bob to win by a nose over the Reliable Man gelding as the Irish-bred Lawman gelding Libran took third.
