THE Irish team of Martin Kelly, Donie McInerney, Shane Jackson and Adam Short secured a 27th win in the 43rd edition of the Australia vs Ireland Challenge Series at Morphettville’s Irish Race Day last Saturday. Richard Cully got Australia off to a great start by winning the opening race, the Dream Cruises Aus vs Ire Jumping Challenge Steeple, where importantly McInerney claimed second on Urban Explorer.

McInerney backed up that effort with another second on Accounted Four in the Dream Cruises Aus vs Ire Jumping Challenge Hurdle, the second and final race of the series, in which Jackson sealed the win for Ireland with a four-length victory on Tunes. Unfortunately there was no individual joy for Short, as he unseated in the steeple and finished fifth in the hurdle.
