THE €135,000 investment made by Tom Whitehead’s Powerstown Stud in a yearling colt by Shalaa in October 2019 finally reaped dividends a year and a half later. Yesterday, the now three-year-old Miami Voice sold online at Arqana for €250,000 to Nicolas de Watrigant’s Mandore International Agency.

A fortnight ago he made his debut over seven furlongs at Fontainbleau and beat eight opponents to land a winners’ purse of €13,500 in the hands of Cristian Demuro, trained by Alessandro and Giuseppe Botti. The colt is the first foal out of a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Charm Spirit.
