A LISTED winner at Vichy and runner-up in the Group 2 Prix de la Nonette, the Sea The Moon four-year-old Tickle Me Green sold for €800,000 when she was knocked down to Alexandra Saint Martin (ASM Bloodstock), standing beside Haras du Cadran’s Pierre Talvard. She was sold carrying her first foal by Oasis Dream from Marwell Park, acting for Gestüt Görlsdorf.

Tickle Me Green is a half-sister to the German stakes winner Tickle Me Blue, and from the immediate family of Group 1 winners Veracious and Garswood, and the Group 1-placed winners Infallible, Mutakayeef and Parliament Square. Director of operations for Gandharvi, Alexandra Saint Martin said after signing the docket: ‘“I’ve bought her for a new partnership between Gandharvi, Haras du Cadran and Ecurie Melanie. Gandharvi is a new entity developed by Kuldeep Singh Rajput that has horses in training worldwide and wishes to base their breeding in France.

“We naturally approached Haras du Cadran and Pierre Talvard, one of the best breeders in France.

“What attracted us to this mare is her race record which speaks for itself, notably being placed in the Prix de la Nonette. This was the deciding factor.”

Sun Bear

Shortly after selling Purplepay, Jean-Pierre Dubois and Matthieu Millet of Ecurie Hunter Valley were on the other side of trade when purchasing the four-year-old Sun Bear for €620,000.

Offered from Ecurie des Monceaux and carrying for the first time to Siyouni, the stakes-placed daughter of Dubawi is out of the Irish Oaks heroine Great Heavens, one of a trio of Group 1 winners from the Musidora Stakes winner Magnificent Style. The others are Nathaniel and Playful Act.

“We have just sold Purplepay, with whom I was in partnership with Jean-Pierre,” said Matthieu Millet. “He told me he was interested in Sun Bear, so I went with him! It’s a great family and her sire is an exceptional stallion. We’re delighted!”
