WATERFORD’s Francis Connors claimed victory in The Underwriting Exchange Grand Prix at the round at Maryville last Saturday. Riding Hilda Anthony’s Lates Du Carel, Connors was the fastest of the five double clears in the seven-way jump-off in 37.45 seconds at the Cork venue.

Sourced as a three-year-old by Hilda Anthony, the mare qualified and competed at the RDS four times. She represented Ireland as a seven-year-old at Lanaken in 2014 and the following year, bred a foal by Rodrigo Pessoa’s Olympic medallist Balou du Rouet.
