PORTMORE Equestrian has certainly proved to be happy hunting ground for Jonathan Smyth in the past and last weekend was no different as he took both rounds of the SJI Autumn Grand Prix aboard Crystal Tom. This is the second win for this combination in the series, having won the round at Mullingar in September. In October the pair took fourth place in the 1.40m Grand Prix in the Portmore Autumn Championships.

Owned by Ann Doherty and bred by the late Anthony Doherty from Donegal, Crystal Tom is nine-year-old gelding by Silvano out of the Graf Magna-sired Lady Graf. Crystal Tom is a half-brother to Lincourt Gino (Gino 111 x Lady Graf) campaigned by Alejandro Karolyi (VEN) up to CSI5* level. Smyth has produced the horse from a four-year-old with much success.
