A LIST of provisional dates and venues has been published for the Irish Pony Club’s 2023 national competitions starting with the organisation’s Dressage Day at Spruce Lodge, Redcross, Co Wicklow on Wednesday, April 12th.

The hunter trials championships are scheduled to take place at Ballycahane, Crecora, Co Limerick on Saturday, April 22nd while Nuenna Farm, Freshford, Co Kilkenny is again venue for the ride phase of the Minimus championships which are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 17th and 18th.

The IPC Festival runs from Wednesday to Friday, July 26th to 28th at Barnadown, Gorey, Co Wexford and although many IPC members will be competing in other disciplines at the Dublin Horse Show (August 9th to 13th), there will be extra Branch interest in the Pony Club combined training and mounted games finals.

The Tetrathlon championships will take place between Killossery Lodge Stud and Blanchardstown in north Dublin on Saturday and Sunday, August 19th and 20th, and members will be returning to that part of the country the following weekend, August 26th and 27th, for the eventing championships at Tattersalls Ireland. Having qualified through their Area competitions, show jumping enthusiasts will have their big day at the Classic finals in CoilÓg, Co Kildare on Sunday, September 3rd.

Qualifiers are currently being held in Area 17 of The Pony Club (Northern Ireland) for the Barrier Animal Health Spring Festival (covering dressage, arena eventing and show jumping) at the Morris Equestrian Centre near Kilmarnock, Scotland (April 1st to 3rd).

The following are the dates and venues for the Area competitions – Pony Club quiz on Sunday, March 5th at Antrim Forum; horse and pony care on Saturday, March 25th at Laurelview; mounted games on Saturday, May 20th at Silverwood Arena; dressage on Saturday, July 8th at Maddybenny; Tetrathlon on Saturday and Sunday, July 15th and 16th, at Ash Hollow Equestrian; show jumping on Friday, July 21st at The Meadows; eventing on Saturday, July 29th at Loughanmore.
