IN the lead-up to Dublin, the Stamullen,Co Meath-based yard of P.J. and Sonya Casey has been in excellent form and among their winners at last weekend’s Tattersalls July Show was the in-form Ballykelly Eva, Margaret Jeffers’s home-bred four-year-old OBOS Quality 004 bay who was champion filly at Dublin last August.

She topped the line-up in Saturday’s ridden hunter mare class under P.J., while, on Sunday, he partnered Wall Street to win the small riding horse class en route to the section championship. A four-year-old by the Selle Français stallion OL Metta, Wall Street was bred in Co Carlow by John Pender out of the Porter Rhodes mare Johns Porter. Both in his class and the championship, the black gelding stood ahead of Ciara Mullen’s owner-ridden Kings Master mare Assagart Vison, another four-year-old.
