BACK in the mid-seventies, when the Troubles in the North were raging, a young(ish) trainer and breeder was plagued with low-flying helicopters frightening his horses. They were coming from the nearby Royal Air Force base in Bishopscourt.

Complaints resulted in a visit from the Squadron Leader who came to smooth ruffled feathers. That officer was Iain Duff and his visit was the start of an enduring friendship which only ended with Iain’s death last week.
