1.45 Limerick Show Maiden Hurdle 2m 70yd

Only losing out narrowly when runner-up on his hurdling debut at Navan last month, Touch The Moon can go one better. A three-time flat winner, the Sea The Stars gelding was making his first start for trainer Bill Durkan. Having jumped right during that latter race, the four-year-old should be better suited to this track.

Second in a listed bumper here in March, Starting Fifteen failed to improve on that form in two subsequent starts. The Eric McNamara-trained gelding could easily take a step forward now that he tackles a set of hurdles for the first time.

SELECTION: TOUCH THE MOON

Former point-to-point winner Mistyburn can make a winning debut over flights. Having shown promise when mid division in two bumper starts, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding should appreciate going back jumping here. The application of first-time cheekpieces is also likely to have a positive effect on the five-year-old.

Fifth in both bumper outings, the locally trained We Be Grand can take a step forward here. Almost certainly laid out for this meeting, the gelding ran a really nice race at Listowel last month.

2.55 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cailin Alainn Mares Hurdle (Listed Race) 2m 6f 180yd

Feet Of A Dancer should be hard to beat if fit and ready on her first start since April. Fourth in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival the previous month, the Paul Nolan-trained mare stepped up on that form when third in a Grade 2 hurdle at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting. Dropped in class here, the six-year-old holds strong claims.

Dual listed winner World Of Fortunes has to be respected despite her penalties. The Liam Kenny-trained seven-year-old has won five of her eight starts over flights, including a victory at this track.

3.30 Tote Guarantee, Never Beaten By SP Novice Hurdle (Listed) 2m 5f

A three-time scorer earlier in the season, the locally trained Ballykinlar can land this valuable prize. Although beaten on his latest two starts, the six-year-old was far from disgraced on either occasion. Having upwards of 6lb in hand of this opposition on official ratings, the Donnacha Duggan-trained gelding can regain the winning thread.

Course and distance winner Carrigg Island was behind the selection at Listowel last month but should get closer now. Arguably better going right-handed, the Eoin McCarthy-trained gelding has a chance to prove that theory here.

SELECTION: BALLYKINLAR

4.00 Master Chefs Classic Handicap Hurdle 2m 70yd

Lightly raced over hurdles, the Philip Dempsey-trained Matt Connor can open his account. Twice a winner on the flat for previous connections, the five-year-old stepped up on three promising maiden efforts when fifth at Gowran Park on his handicap debut. Having been hampered early on in that aforementioned race, the gelding did well in the circumstances.

Sixth on his stable debut at Listowel last month, Lenjoleur De Palma is entitled to improve. Trainer Eric McNamara is sure to have had one eye on this meeting with the four-year-old son of Born To Sea.

SELECTION: MATT CONNOR

While arguably a better chaser, recent Listowel winner Gaelic Des Chasys is hard to get away from. Successful over fences at the Harvest Festival, the Eric McNamara-trained nine-year-old reverts to hurdling off a 16lb lower mark. Despite failing to exploit a similar rating on his most recent starts over hurdles, the gelding has improved over fences of late.

Inchidaly Copper, who is also on a higher mark over fences, took full advantage of a lower hurdles rating to win at Killarney last time. Even after being reassessed, the gelding is still nicely handicapped under this code.

SELECTION: GAELIC DES CHASTYS

5.00 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race 2m

Samba Train can land this concluding race for local trainer Enda Bolger. A wide margin winner on her penultimate start at Listowel in May, the four-year-old ran well for a long way before eventually finishing sixth in a winners’ race at that same track last time. Entitled to be all the straighter for that outing, she should be hard to beat.

Tumblin In, who came from a long way off the pace to finish fourth on her recent debut, has every chance on this second start.

A full-sister to a blacktype mare, the Eric McNamara-trained daughter of Walk In The Park escapes any penalties here.

SELECTION: SAMBA TRAIN
