IRISH-bred Madam Dancealot roared from last to first to win the Grade 2 San Clemente Stakes at Del Mar last Sunday. Owned by Slam Dunk Racing and trained by Richard Baltas, the three-year-old daughter of Sir Prancealot shocked bettors returning $44 for the win.

Bred by Tally-Ho Stud, she won two of six starts for trainer Joseph Tuite in Britain before trying the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. That was a bust as she finished 13th and followed that with two more losses this spring. Everything began to click again when she won an allowance race at Santa Anita, finished second in the Special Goddess and shocked in the San Clemente.
