Bertram Allen and Kevin Babington will fly the flag for Ireland at the CSI***** Longines Masters in Los Angeles this weekend, where 30 of the best riders in the world will compete for a total prize fund of $1 million.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted up to 30,000 spectators to the Los Angeles Convention Center, located next to the Staples Center, for an event which along with Hong Kong and Paris, is part of the Longines Masters Grand Slam.

Twenty-year-old Allen has travelled with Quiet Easy 4 and the 17-year-old stallion Romanov, while Tipperary-born Babington, who is based in the US, will ride the Irish Sport Horse Mark Q and Shorapur.

The Longines Masters in Los Angeles finishes this Sunday.
