Alice Springs is the sole Irish representative in the Tattersalls 250th Year Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, Friday's highlight of the three day July course meeting.

The Galileo filly has been busy this term, finishing midfield in the French 1,000 Guineas in between placed efforts in the English version and the Coronation Stakes.

She faces seven rivals the pick being Usherette, bidding for a first Group 1 success.

Andre Fabre's filly has won six of her seven lifetime starts, with her one defeat coming on her only previous appearance at the top level last year.

Most recently she was a comfortable winner at Royal Ascot from the reopposing Always Smile, who is one of two runners for Saeed bin Suroor along with Very Special.

Last year's winner Amazing Maria is back again for David O'Meara after a creditable effort in the Queen Anne at Ascot.

The consistent Euro Charline, placed in the Lockinge behind Belardo, will represent Marco Botti and owners Team Valor with Irish Rookie running closer to home this time for Martyn Meade after recent outings in Ireland and America.

The field is completed by Kevin Ryan's lightly-raced Ashadihan, who was sixth in the Coronation last time out.
