THE Association of Irish Racehorse Owners presents an award at Dundalk Stadium each winter season to connections of the horses who win the most races and the horse who earns the most points for placings.

With the new winter season recently kicking off, the AIRO took the opportunity to present the awards for the 2019/’20 season to the connections of Major Power and Sayesse.

Owned and trained by Eddie Lynam (also joint breeder), Major Power raced seven times at Dundalk last winter, winning four of his starts. Eddie’s daughter Sarah accepted the award.

Sayesse raced 10 times at Dundalk last winter, winning twice and being placed a further three times.

The six-year-old regularly competed in claiming races and changed ownership twice during the campaign. He is currently trained by Noel Kelly for the Hasson Syndicate and their prize was accepted by the trainer’s representative Danny Fitzsimons.

Regina Byrne, AIRO manager, said: “We are delighted to announce that AIRO will sponsor these two categories again this season. We wish every owner the best of luck this winter on the all-weather.”
