MICHAEL Moore, who rode on the fourth and fifth-placed Ashbrook squads in the team challenge and was second in the expert/novice pairs’ class with Mags Aughney, enjoyed an extremely successful festival when it came to individual competitions in The Irish Field dressage section.

On Saturday at Stradbally Hall, he won and placed third in the Open with the 16-year-old Rachelle Comet gelding Smart Decision (74.62%) and the 14-year-old grey mare Guaranteed Gold (71.15) – split by Brooke Lodge’s Kim McCann on Bray Summer Breeze (72.69) – while, on Sunday, he was first and second on the pair, but in reverse order, in the long arena.
