AIR Force Blue and Acapulco were two notable absentees from the final declarations for Friday's Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained Air Force Blue was supplemented for the race but now bypasses the contest, with the Ballydoyle handler relying on Waterloo Bridge and Washington DC.

American runner Acapulco was taken out of Tuesday's King's Stand Stakes by trainer Wesley Ward on account of the soft ground and she again misses out here.

The ante-post favourite is Karl Burke's Quiet Reflection, a startlingly good winner of the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock.

Second that day was Richard Fahey's Donjuan Triumphant and he will appreciate the softer ground on this occasion.

Log Out Island, hugely impressive at Newbury last time out, and last year's Coventry winner Buratino are other leading hopes.

There are a couple of French contenders with Cheikeljack running for Henri-Alex Pantall and Fabrice Chappet's Money Maker.

Dream Dubai, Kachy, Illuminate and La Rioja complete the 12-strong field.

BALLYDOYLE OUT

Leading Coronation Stakes fancy Ballydoyle will not run at Royal Ascot on Friday.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained filly, runner-up in the 1000 Guineas, was prominent in the ante-post betting but her name did not appear amongst the 13 declarations.

Ballydoyle still holds an entry in the French Oaks at Chantilly on Sunday.

O'Brien instead turns to Alice Springs, third in the Newmarket Classic, in the Group One at the Royal meeting.

Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Jet Setting has been declared, though she will run in different silks after emerging owners-breeders China Horse Club bought her for £1.3million on Monday.

The filly remains in training with Adrian Keatley, with regular jockey Shane Foley still at the helm.

Now Or Never and Tanaza add strength in depth to the Irish charge.

Impressive York winner Nemoralia is still in contention, but trainer Jeremy Noseda has expressed significant concern about the rain-softened ground.

French 1000 Guineas runner-up Nathra is set to line up for the John Gosden team, with Qemah and Besharah, the respective third and fourth home that day, poised to renew rivalry.

Ashadihan , Czabo, Fireglow, Marenko and Promising Run complete the line-up.
