Rossbeigh a wide-margin winner for Harry Kelly

THE Harry Kelly-trained Rossbeigh Strand (8/1) destroyed the opposition on his return to the fray in the five-year-old geldings’ maiden. Having pulled up on his only start last season in a Dromahane auction maiden, he was bounced out smartly by James Hannon and then made all the running. The son of Mahler stormed clear between the final two obstacles and an error at the last didn’t make the slightest difference as he crossed the line with 14 lengths to spare over newcomer Straight Swap. Handler Kelly indicated that Rossbeigh Strand, a close relation to Grade 1 novice chase winner Alexander Taipan that sports the silks of Sean Ronan from Fethard, is now likely to be sold.
