Top performance families

There’s bound to be big interest among bidders for BP Lucky Clover, a beautiful filly out of World Champion, Dublin Champion, and the Irish Breeders Classic Champion Arraghbeg Clover, and she is by one of the world’s leading sires, Mylord Carthago. This is the brilliant Arraghbeg Clover’s first progeny and she is very modern, light and ultra careful like her mother.

Another top offering with great potential is BP Lady Heartbreaker, a filly by one of the world’s best broodmare sires in Heartbreaker. Her dam is a sister to no less than seven 1.60m horses and her grand dam is the famous 1.60 mare Ta Belle van Sombeke.

BP Lady Heartbreaker (Heartbreaker x Vigo x Tabelle) is a very correct blood filly with size and substance for a Heartbreaker. She is out of the full-sister to Shane Breen’s five-star Nations Cup and Grand Prix performer Golden Hawk. The dam is the sister of London, who won the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics, 1.60m Grand Prix horse Dabelle, and a half-sister to Tarran De La Pomme, A Pikachu De Muze and another six 1.60m peformers. Grand dam Dabelle was a 1.60m performer herself and she had also two siblings competing to 1.60m and descends from the line of many international show jumpers, including the superstar Mumbai by Diamant De Semilly.

A really attractive six-year-old is Calamando Blue, the Irish Breeders’ Classic All studbooks Champion and six-year-old final winner at his last international outing on the Sunshine Tour, Spain. This son of Calmando x Chacco Blue was also a finalist at this year’s World Breeding Championships at Lanaken, Belgium. He already looks like a top Grand Prix horse in the making and has beautiful rideability, a trademark of Ballypatrick’s production.

A five-year-old that stands out is the much talked about BP Tiny Dancer (Plot Blue x Concorde). Out of the Grand Prix-winning mare Uptown Girl, she is a joy to work with. A very modern type, just like her dam, she is super careful and has that real will to win. BP Tiny Dancer is one of the most consistent five-year-olds in Ireland. She was a winner in Simmonscourt and Reserve Champion at the 2022 Dublin Horse Show. She excelled as a finalist at the Irish Breeders’ Class and was also a finalist at the World Championships at Lanaken this year.

In the four-year-old section, the son of the very popular stallion Million Dollar out of a Centurion mare, BP Millionaire, looks a very flashy type with a very modern canter.

When you look through the three year olds and foals offered by Ballypatrick, we see most by the world’s top sires but even more importantly, the majority of the dams have international performance or international lineage.
