THE Grey Gatsby, Adelaide and Kingston Hill are just three of the top-class horses among the 28 entries for the Tattersalls Gold Cup.

The Group 1 contest will take place at the Curragh on Sunday, May 24th, as part of the Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival, the sales company now sponsoring all three Group 1 races on that weekend.

Winner of the Cox Plate for Aidan O’Brien last October, Adelaide is now trained in Australia by Chris Waller and is being aimed at the Queen Elizabeth Stakes in Randwick in April but will return to Ballydoyle for a European summer campaign.

Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: “To sponsor two classics and one of Europe’s premier 10-furlong races over two days demonstrates Tattersalls’ commitment to Irish racing and reflects the support we receive at our sales from all sectors of the Irish racing and breeding industry.”

Prize money for the Tattersalls Gold Cup increases from €210,000 to €250,000.
