MEMBER TESTIMONIAL

Declan Martin

What drew me into getting involved was the fixed price – there were no bills coming in every month for this, that, and the other. Plus the fact that you can be in the parade ring whenever you have a runner gives you the chance to enjoy racing even more than before.

It’s an unreal experience to stand in the parade ring with the people that you admire – the trainers and jockeys and owners – and for so little money.

The day at Galway, when Perfect Soldier won, was a great day altogether, and one my father Bill [who is 96] will never forget as long as he lives. I bought him a present of the membership and gave it to him on the day the horse won.

He was so happy! Money couldn’t buy what that day meant to him. He was interviewed before and after the race on Attheraces, and was presented with the winner’s trophy on behalf of the club. It meant so much to us all.
